KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
SCHEDULE: (3) - 12 Hour Shifts, 7pm - 730am, every other weekend and rotating holidays.Full-Time Benefit Eligible

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE REQUIRED
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
The Medical-Surgical Nephrology Care Unit is a 25-bed medical-surgical unit providing comprehensive care to patients with acute and chronic kidney conditions, including chronic kidney disease (CKD), acute kidney injury (AKI), and electrolyte imbalances. The unit also cares for patients receiving hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
In addition to nephrology patients, the unit provides care for patients with a variety of diagnoses, including cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and endocrine conditions. Patients are monitored via telemetry, and all new hires are required to successfully complete mandatory telemetry training.
