Position Overview

The Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU) is a 32‑bed adult inpatient surgical unit that provides floor, telemetry, and intermediate care for acute cardiac, vascular, and other surgical patients requiring cardiac monitoring. Services include coronary artery bypass, Heartmate II or III & Heartware mechanical circulatory support devices, valve replacement or repairs, type A & B aortic dissections, fem‑pop bypass, scalenectomy, TAVR, and heart or lung transplantation.

This Registered Nurse Lead will provide clinical and operational leadership while supporting the day‑to‑day management of the nursing team. The RN will oversee employment activities, conduct performance evaluations, facilitate staff development and training, and support performance improvement initiatives. The RN will mentor and empower nursing staff, fostering a culture of quality, safety, collaboration, and professional growth. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, the RN will help drive operational excellence and ensure the delivery of exceptional, patient‑centered care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
• Active Maryland or Compact RN license required
• BLS CPR certification required
• Minimum of 3 years acute care RN work experience required
• Charge/preceptor experience required; leading committees and scheduling experience preferred

Compensation

Salary Range: Minimum 47.96/hour - Maximum 74.34/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
