About Our L&D Unit
Winchester Hospital’s Labor, Delivery, and Recovery (LDR) Unit is a high-performing, patient-centered environment supporting over 2,500 deliveries annually. The unit includes 10 labor beds, 2 triage beds, 2 operating rooms, and a dedicated tub room for labor support (non-water birth). The team maintains A1 standards for nurse-to-patient ratios and is supported by 24/7 in-house anesthesia and continuous neonatology coverage. We care for patients at or above 32 weeks gestation and collaborate closely with private practice Obstetricians and Physician Assistants. Staffing on each shift includes a strong core team of nurses along with surgical tech and administrative support. The unit has recently undergone extensive renovations, providing brand-new labor rooms designed with comfort and aesthetics, including modern bathrooms and glass showers, while OR upgrades and expanded storage enhancements are in progress.
