Uses clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions. Assesses, monitors, detects, plans, and takes appropriate action to prevent potential physiological complications and promotes optimal level of health. Accountable for integrating care within scope of practice licensure, relevant education, and experience. Reports to shift Team Leader and is accountable to the Department Manager. Utilizes Policies and Procedures to guide job duties. Level-specific criteria are evaluated annually and can be found in the MNM Clinical Ladder.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other members of the health care team to develop, implement, and evaluate an individualized written plan of care based on a physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual assessment consistent with patient or significant other’s changing needs and goals, utilizing the Clinical Practice Model (CPM) and the Caring‑Quality Model.
- Seek life‑long learning through certification, advanced practice, higher education, and literature review.
- Demonstrate leadership as a clinical resource and professional role model.
- Communicate effectively through collegial relationships, SBAR, and interdisciplinary communication.
- Maintain enhanced time‑management skills and assist others to contribute to the overall performance of the team.
- Perform other duties consistent with the purpose of the job as directed by general and unit‑specific competency‑based objectives.
Qualifications Required
- License to practice nursing in the State of Michigan.
- Competent within 6 months of hire with all age groups within the defined patient population. Demonstrate sensitivity when interacting with diverse ethnic groups.
- BLS certified.
Qualifications Preferred
- Bachelor’s in Nursing.
