Job Summary : Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal‑directed patient care to families and patients using nursing process principles. The RN delivers safe, effective care and collaborates with the healthcare team to achieve desired results.
Minimum Training and Education : Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred. RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree must be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and obtain a BSN within four years of hire or reclassification. A minimum of one year of RN experience required.
Licensure, Certifications, & Registrations : RN license from the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required (AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or equivalent, or American Red Cross CPR/AED).
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, climb stairs, work indoor and outdoor, from elevated areas, confined spaces, and kneeling positions.
- Ability to bend, twist, squat, reach overhead, and perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, and elbows.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs unassisted; lift 50 lbs from floor to 36 inches unassisted; lift 25 lbs overhead.
- Ability to maintain 20/40 vision; see and recognize objects; discriminate colors; determine distance; good peripheral vision.
- Ability to maintain hearing acuity, tactile functions.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, latex‑safe environment, and respirator use (selected positions).
Work Schedule : 36 hours per week, weekend nights shift 6 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. (hours are rounded to the nearest half hour).
