SMRMC PRN 1600-Registered Nurse/Inpatient-6120 ICU
Responsibilities
- Use the nursing process to safely coordinate total patient care and education for patients as they are admitted and discharged from the facility.
- Rotate between weekends and holidays as determined by the Nurse Manager.
- Function within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations for the department and organization.
- Function independently in ICU, CVSU, ED, medical-surgical floors, and telemetry floors. Assignments will be made based on current staffing needs.
- Relate in a professional, non-defensive manner with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors.
- Document total care given; review and maintain patient charts per policy; assist with accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system.
- Pass a pharmacology test for this position.
- Attend yearly mandatory education requirements; arrange and attend sessions.
- Collaborate with the CNO, ACNO, Nurse Manager, and staff; and with physicians, administrators/assistants and peers.
- Assist as directed in problem solving by promoting teamwork between staff, physicians, home health, hospital-owned outpatient clinics, and all other ancillary departments.
- Maintain all certifications and licensure requirements on time.
Qualifications
- The successful candidate will have to pass a pharmacology test for this position.
- Attendance to yearly Mandatory and assigned Healthstream education requirements is nonnegotiable and will be the responsibility of the employee to arrange and attend sessions.
- Must be able to work and relate in a professional, nondefensive manner with peers, physicians, administration, and visitors.
