Registered Nurse - General / Telemetry Day Shift

Role Overview

The Staff Nurse provides highly technical, patient-centered care within a fast-paced environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver age-appropriate nursing services. They are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, while supervising team members and maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment. The role emphasizes clear communication, relationship building, accountability, professional growth, and continuous quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect patient care following nursing standards and hospital policies.
• Supervise and collaborate with team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff to promote understanding and safety.
• Administer medications and IV therapies accurately and timely.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and uphold confidentiality.
• Participate in professional development and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current nursing license in Texas.
• Basic Life Support certification; additional department-specific certifications as required.
• Minimum of 12 months RN experience or completion of Nurse Residency Program.
• Knowledge of hospital policies, procedures, and nursing care standards.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Indoor setting with exposure to blood, body fluids, and potential skin and respiratory irritants.
• Physical activity includes standing, moving, bending, reaching, and handling equipment.
• Requires visual acuity, ability to lift and carry weight, and effective communication skills.
