  • Utilize the nursing process while delivering, directing, and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit
  • Plan, coordinate, and provide patient care
  • Participate in interdisciplinary planning
  • Perform discharge planning
  • Provide patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization
  • Access community resources
  • Oversee dialysis treatments for patients suffering from acute or chronic kidney failure as ordered by physicians
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
  • May perform Charge Nurse duties

Requirements

  • RN License in the state you are applying
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification is preferred initially and required after 90 days of employment
  • ACLS certification is required from day 1 for all Charge Nurses, High Obs, and ICU
  • Certification through the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) is preferred but not required
  • Dialysis nursing experience/knowledge caring for patients with acute or chronic kidney failure implied by the role responsibilities
