Job Summary
Responsible for planning, organizing, and administering patient care within the scope of training and expertise, collaborating with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes, aligned with hospital objectives, policies, and the Nurse Practice Act of Tennessee.
Shift / Hours
Full time; 36 hours a week, 4 ten‑hour shifts per week. Shifts run Tuesday‑Friday 7:00 am–5:30 pm, with occasional weekend and holiday calls. Call begins after the normal shift at 5:30 pm and typically occurs 3–4 days per month, including at least one weekend call 7:00 am–7:00 pm. Candidates must live within 30 minutes of the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
- Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
- Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient’s progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
- Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.

Technical Capabilities
- Nursing Patient Assessment & Evaluation Home Care (Novice): Demonstrates fundamental proficiency in assessing and evaluating patients in moderate‑difficulty home settings, autonomous delivery of physician‑ordered care, and appropriate contact with primary care providers.
- Patient Education (Novice): Provides patient education with sufficient fundamental proficiency in moderate‑difficulty applications.
- Care Planning (Novice): Anticipates resource needs, identifies tasks, sets priorities, schedules activities, meets deadlines, and organizes work; handles multiple assignments simultaneously with minimal disruption.
- Evidence‑Based Nutrition Practice (Novice): Searches for nutrition evidence to answer clinical questions, generally works under direction of others while accomplishing assignments.

Qualifications
Certifications: Registered Nurse (licensure).
Work Experience: Relevant work experience.
Experience Level: Less than 1 year.
Education: Graduate of an approved discipline‑specific program.
