Job Summary

Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice.Assumes responsibility for performing, delegating and coordinating nursing care for patients undergoing special cardiac procedures, including interventions that assist the patient in a conscious or semiconscious state, and monitoring patients having moderate sedation. Identifies physiologic, psychological, and sociologic needs of the patient, develops and implements an individualized plan of care, coordinates interventions and evaluates outcomes of the patient's hospital experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
  • Require two (2) years of Interventional Cardiac Cath and/or Electrophysiology Lab experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer strong IV skills.
  • Prefer current Moderate Sedation and IV competency credentials.

  • BSN: Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Required License and Certs

  • ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
  • FL RN: FL Registered Nurse License
