Position Summary

The Registered Nurse provides professional performance and direct patient care in the Ambulatory OB/GYN Department. Responsibilities include nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and coordination of care for patients and families across the health care continuum.

Department: Ambulatory OB/GYN

Schedule: 36 Hours per week (Days/Evenings/Nights)

Education Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited school.
  • BSN preferred. Non‑BSN candidates must enroll in a BSN program within one year of hire and complete it by the end of the semester in which their four‑year anniversary occurs.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Massachusetts in good standing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Fetal Monitoring certification.
  • Additional certifications may be required for specific practice areas.

Experience

  • Current (within last 2 years) experience in Outpatient/Ambulatory OB/GYN.
  • Telephone triage experience required.
  • Antenatal Testing / NST / Fetal Monitoring experience and certification required.
  • Labor & Delivery experience required.
  • Epic documentation experience preferred.
  • NST/EFM experience required.
  • Relevant specialty experience or certification required for certain areas (e.g., enterostomal therapy, epidemiology, peri‑operative areas).

Knowledge & Skills

  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to access, enter, and interpret computerized data.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Multilingual skills beyond English preferred.
  • Analytical ability to solve clinical nursing issues and conduct quality improvement projects.
  • Delegation of patient care activities.
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities and manage stress associated with patient care and organizational issues.

Compensation

Hourly rate range: $38.05 – $75.33, determined by education, experience, and licensure. Included benefits: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, flexible spending accounts, 403(b) savings plan, paid time off, career advancement opportunities, and resources supporting employee well‑being.
