Job Description
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides direct behavioral support services to students within a public school environment. Working under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the RBT implements individualized behavior intervention plans and instructional programs to support student learning and development.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
- Familiarity with guidelines of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973;
- Minimum of one (1) year of job-related experience within the specialized field;
- Physical ability to implement behavioral interventions, including safely managing crisis situations
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents with autism spectrum disorder or developmental disabilities
- Experience in a school or educational setting
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
This is a 220-day position with insurance and retirement benefits. Salary will be determined by education, certification/licensure, and work experience. Starting salary will be no less than $45,521 per school year.
