Role Overview
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Behavior Technicians. As a Behavior Technician, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with autism.
Responsibilities
- Work one-on-one with children to implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Use evidence-based techniques to teach communication, social, and daily living skills while reducing interfering behaviors.
- Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, crouching, squatting, and lifting or carrying children or objects that weigh up to 50 pounds, while ensuring safety for the child and the technician.
- Document progress, observe behavior, and assist in data collection to inform treatment plans.
- Participate in ongoing team meetings, supervision, and training sessions.
- Maintain a compassionate, patient, and diligent demeanor while engaging with unpredictable and potentially confrontational children.
Requirements
- Passionate about helping children with autism.
- Patient, compassionate, and able to work well in a team.
- 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid Certification, and a recent Tuberculosis test.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
- Physical fitness required: able to sit, squat, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Pay Range
Pay Range: $19 - $25 per hour.
