Position Overview
As an RBT, you will provide direct behavioral support services to students under the supervision of a BCBA. You will help implement treatment plans, develop student skills, collect behavioral data, and support positive educational outcomes in classroom and school environments.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
- Implement ABA-based intervention plans and behavior programs as directed by the supervising BCBA
- Provide direct one-on-one and small-group behavioral support
- Collect accurate, real-time behavioral data during every session
- Support skill development in communication, social, behavioral, adaptive, and academic areas
- Maintain professional conduct consistent with the BACB RBT Ethics Code
- Communicate student progress and session observations to the supervising BCBA
- Participate in required supervision activities in accordance with BACB requirements
Operational Responsibilities
- Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled sessions
- Complete session documentation within 24 hours of service delivery
- Follow all Hawaii DOE policies, staff conduct standards, and safety protocols
- Complete Applied ABC onboarding, required trainings, and DOE compliance requirements
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and related service providers
- Immediately report incidents, behavioral escalations, or safety concerns to your supervisor
Required Training
- Successfully complete and maintain QBS Safety-Care certification as required by the Hawaii DOE
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
Qualifications
Required
- Active RBT certification in good standing or willingness to obtain certification
- College Degree or Minimum 48 College Credits
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within educational and multidisciplinary environments
Preferred
- School-based, special education, DOE, or ABA experience
- Experience supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Bilingual or multilingual skills
