Swine Technician TrainerThe Swine Technician Trainer is responsible for training new and existing employees in best practices for swine care, handling, and production processes. This role ensures that all staff members are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain animal welfare, biosecurity, and farm efficiency while adhering to company policies and industry regulations.Role and Responsibilities:Teach and deliver hands-on specialized training for all employees in proper swine production techniques, animal husbandry, and farm safety to reduce stress and ensure animal wellbeingConduct on-site demonstrations and practical training sessions covering animal care, breeding, farrowing, nursery, and finishing operationsFollow all production protocols and procedures to maximize sow and gilt productionEvaluate employees' skills and provide feedback for improvement on efficienciesFollow daily tasks to achieve production targetsRecord and maintain production records, timely and accuratelyMaintain facility maintenance and proper ventilationQualifications and Education Requirements:High school diploma or GED preferred2+ years of experience in swine production, with a background in training or leadership preferredStrong knowledge of swine health, reproduction and production processesAbility to effectively communicate and teach diverse groups of employees and leadershipStrong problem-solving and organizational skillsWork Environment:Farm-based setting with exposure to livestock, odors, dust, and varying temperatures in rural areasNoise levels that require hearing protectionRequires handling animals and performing manual laborTravel is required for training at different farm locationsPhysical Requirements:Standing, walking, and ability to be on feet 8 to 10 hours per dayFrequent bending, reaching, squatting and kneelingFrequent use of one or both hands/arms to grasp or pullFrequent lifting of objects weighing 3-20 poundsOccasional bending while pulling and/or lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds, or requiring up to 50 pounds of force to moveOccasional bending while pulling and/or lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds or requiring up to 100 pounds of force to move with the assistance of another person as neededAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingMust be able to print and/or write legiblyAdditional Requirements:Must have valid driver's licenseMust have reliable transportation to travel to multiple farm locations as neededOther duties as assigned
