Starting Salary: $110,000 - $125,000 /year based on experience. Annual Education Stipend: $2,000. Location: San Francisco Bay Area - Solano County. Environment: Special Education Programs, Grades K-12. Role: Regional Speech Language Pathologist (SLP).

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating students to identify speech-language therapy needs and determine appropriate service levels.
  • Developing individualized therapy plans based on assessment findings, strengths, and objectives.
  • Setting collaborative, student-centered goals with families, educators, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Monitoring progress through data-driven assessments and providing detailed reports.
  • Delivering direct therapy using evidence-based strategies to improve communication, comprehension, articulation, and cognitive-linguistic skills.
  • Documenting sessions and clinical observations accurately and promptly for compliance.
  • Maintaining timely case records and billing within 24 hours.
  • Communicating proactively with families about schedules and progress.
  • Collaborating with teachers and related service providers to generalize goals into routines.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary meetings and regional conferences.
  • Providing clinical support, training, and mentorship to staff.
  • Overseeing program intake and comprehensive assessments.
  • Ensuring quality and consistency across multiple school locations.
  • Promoting professional development and knowledge sharing.
  • Traveling among assigned schools; overnight travel may be required.
  • Performing additional duties as directed.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in speech pathology or related field.
  • Licensed or in process of obtaining a speech-language pathology (SLP) credential.
  • Preferred: CA state special education instruction credential.
  • Valid CA state driver’s license.
  • Certification in crisis management training.
  • Experience providing speech therapy instruction in alternative, special education, or behavioral health settings.
  • Strong knowledge of special education services, compliance, teaching strategies, data-based decision making, and IEPs.
  • Proficiency with IEP planning, progress monitoring, and report writing.
  • Ability to motivate and engage students with diverse needs.
  • Strong relationship building skills with students, parents, teachers, and community partners.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, and multitasking.
  • Knowledge of instructional technology and Microsoft Office Suite.
