Regional Sales Manager

Our client is a well‑established, privately owned power equipment distributor with more than 60 years in business. They\'re hiring a Regional Sales Manager to grow an established territory across central/ eastern Iowa and western Illinois (Uncapped Commission) .

You won\'t start from scratch: existing customers, purchasing history, engineering contacts and account mapping are in place from day one. This is a long-term role for someone looking for a stable, potentially career-long home.

Key Responsibilities

• Sell generators and related power equipment to end users, contractors, installers, engineering firms and other commercial and industrial customers.
• Grow the territory east into the Davenport / Bettendorf area and surrounding communities.
• Explain products, integration requirements and differentiators clearly to technical audiences.
• Target sectors including manufacturing, power and energy, water and wastewater, schools, hospitals, residential developments and lift stations.
• Respond quickly to calls and emails, get answers fast and follow through reliably.

The Ideal candidate

• Proven B2B sales success selling mechanical or electrical products, industrial equipment or power solutions.
• Strong prospecting and relationship-building with end users, contractors, installers and engineering firms.
• Technical confidence: able to hold credible conversations with engineers about applications and integration.
• Highly responsive, dependable and proactive; comfortable running a large territory independently.
• Willing to travel around 50% across Iowa and western Illinois, including overnights.

Preferred

• Around 15-20 years of experience with clear career progression.
• A technical, mechanical, electrical or engineering background before moving into sales.
• Generator experience is a plus but not required.
• A long-term mindset and an appetite to build a territory over many years.
