REGIONAL OPERATIONS MANAGER, PARKS AND RECREATION (CHIEF OF DEVELOPMENT)

Job TitleThe ideal candidate we are searching for will be knowledgeable of architectural design, project delivery methods, and organizational objectives, policies, and operations to effectively oversee all capital projects.Essential Job FunctionsUnder the direction of an Assistant Director, manages the capital projects functions of the Department of Parks and Recreation.Directs highly complex or sensitive assignmentsPrepares or manages the preparation of various documents of a technical, sensitive, complex, or political natureRepresents the Department on capital project related matters and programs at various meetingsCollaborates with appropriate Departmental services, County departments, community stakeholders, and/or Federal, State, and local agencies on a variety of issuesAssume the duties of the Assistant Director (in absence of), as directed, by performing necessary management functions, as needed.Maintains current knowledge related to Parks and Recreation services, capital projects, facilities, and programsRequirementsRequirements to qualify include four years of supervisory experience at the level of County of Los Angeles class of Administrative Services Manager II* or higher overseeing a unit responsible for the planning, design, and implementation of capital projects for a public agency**.A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.Physical Class II – Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting.
