Speaking of growth, our Regional Management team is expanding! We are seeking a dynamic leader to oversee the operations, financial performance, compliance, and staffing of a diverse portfolio of 6–10 residential communities throughout the Midwest region. This portfolio may include both market-rate and affordable housing properties, as well as a blend of company-owned and third-party managed assets. This position will require travel throughout Illinois, Ohio, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Job Highlights

• Portfolio operations and performance: directly overseeing daily operations across all properties, ensuring consistent, high-quality execution of leasing, maintenance, resident relations, and site administration and a instilling an accountability-centered culture.
• Client communication and ownership relations: serving as the primary liaison between the property owner and the management company to proactively communicate challenges and opportunities to ownership, offering clear recommendations for resolution or improvement.
• Compliance and regulatory oversight.
• Financial management and reporting, including leading the budgeting, monthly financial reporting, financial analysis and monitoring of the portfolio’s financial health and operations.
• Leadership of high-performing teams with clear direction, strong support, and consistent follow-through.

Qualifications for Success:

• Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive residential property management experience, with 2+ years in a regional or multi-site leadership role.
• Proven experience managing both market-rate and affordable housing communities, with hands-on knowledge of LIHTC and HUD compliance requirements or willingness to quickly learn and complete certification courses within the first 90 days of employment.
• Industry certifications preferred (CPM, ARM, CAM, TCS and/or COS).
• Experience as a strategic leader with an entrepreneurial spirit, willing to get into the weeds and do the work.
• Passionate about being in the field, working on site with their team.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to hold staff and sites accountable — including conducting objective, in-depth analysis of site and staff performance; communicating direct, constructive feedback; documenting performance improvement plans; and providing hands-on site-level leadership and operational support when needed.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality execution across all responsibilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to present financial and operational results to ownership groups.
• Ability to manage a wide range of competing priorities, tasks, teams, and responsibilities while maintaining focus and attention to detail and producing measurable results.
• Strong proficiency in Yardi Voyager and RentCafé.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in remaining Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Teams, PowerPoint, One Drive, SharePoint, Outlook)
• Willingness to travel throughout the Midwest.
