Job TitleResponsibilities:Program / Administration:Ensuring that your centers are adhering to and enforcing all the policies and procedures of Care-a-lot Child Care and the childcare licensing regulations of New York StateEnsuring that your centers are in accordance with governmental laws/state mandates (Health Dept., CACFP, etc.)Maintaining program quality at your centers to meet state/national accreditation standards, specifically QUALITYstarsNYEnsuring the implementation of an age and developmentally appropriate, open-ended program of the highest quality at your centers that supports learning through playOverseeing QUALITYstarsNY program for all centers to ensure centers are in compliance, ready for recertification, and that new centers are certified in a timely manner.Overseeing training for all centers to ensure that the remain in compliance with NYS/OCFS requirementsOverseeing Aspire for all centers, i.e.: monitoring accounts, on boarding on new locations.Selecting and training centers with an accredited curriculumLeading company efforts for achieving accreditationEvaluating and implementing systems such as Pyramid Model, etc.Supporting the integration of acquired facilities and the hiring of Admin staffMeeting agreed upon deadlinesProviding timely updates on projectsUtilizing data to establish and measure center performance on a regular basisCommunicating frequently and effectively with staffGuarding and protecting all information of a confidential mannerAssisting and rendering staff support to all classrooms and employees as necessaryParticipating in professional conferences, ongoing training or educational opportunities to remain current in the fieldCompleting 15 hours of early childhood training within the first 6 months and every year thereafterSupport centers in absence of the Director or Assistant DirectorAdditional responsibilities as assigned by managementPersonnel/Supervision:Training Admin staff in areas of responsibility listed above, and monitoring Admin performance to ensure that training was successfulCommunicating effectively and directly with all staffServing in the absence of other staff as necessaryRequirements:Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of NYS childcare regulationsKnowledge of child development, early childhood education programming, and national accreditation criteriaKnowledge of and ability to supervise developmentally appropriate practices and age appropriate activitiesKnowledge of first aid proceduresEffective, professional, timely, courteous, and tactful oral and written communication skillsEffective supervisory skills and role modeling practicesAbility to maintain positive relationships with children, co-workers, and parentsAbility to use sound judgment and tactAbility to lead and motivate a teamAbility to organize, problem solve and respond to emergencies effectivelyKnowledge of community resourcesFlexibility (especially in scheduling and practice to respond to program needs)Creativity and patienceRequirements:Able to lift approximately 30 pounds from the floor to a waist high tableAble to reach a child 20 - 30 feet away within 30 secondsAble to crouch to a child's height, maintain eye contact at the child's level, and sit on the floor for extended periods of timeGood health as confirmed by a physician's statement and proof of being free of tuberculosisNew York State Registry clearanceCriminal History Fingerprint clearanceTraining and Experience:B.A. Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field OR NYS Administrator Credential AND at least one year each of teaching and supervisory experience; OR Associates Degree in ECE or related field OR Child Development Assoc. AND at least two years each of teaching and supervisory experience AND a plan of study leading to a Bachelor's degree or NYS Children's Program Administrator Credential, ANDPrefer one-year experience with office management or financial record keepingDemonstrated commitment to and interest in professional growth through education, work experience and involvement with the early childhood community
