You’ll design and lead efficient, safe, joyful, and just character lessons that promote inclusivity, ensuring that every student, family, and staff member has what they need to succeed. Your role will be pivotal in removing obstacles to learning and finding creative solutions to challenges, all while providing best‑in‑class customer service to our community.

Role Description

The Brand Counselor role is a hybrid role with both in‑person and remote work with travel expected between regions.

The primary purpose of the Brand Counselor is to plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling program for all Ignite campuses. The individual will counsel students to fully develop each student’s academic, career, personal, and social abilities and address the needs of special population students. Additionally, the Counselor will evaluate and administer a comprehensive mental health guidance and counseling program. The individual will counsel students and promote mental wellbeing inclusive of suicide prevention, grief, and positive behavior interventions. In addition, the Brand Counselor will promote character development and provide community resources to all campuses for the emotional well being of all stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas school counselor certificate
  • 2+ years of teaching experience

Key Performance Indicators Include

  • 95% ADA at all Ignite Campuses
  • 90% Student Retention on all Campuses

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Mental Health Promotion; Substance Abuse Prevention; Suicide Prevention; Grief Informed and Trauma Informed Practices; Building skills related to managing emotions, establishing and maintaining positive relationships, and responsible decision‑making; Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports; and Safe and Supportive School Climate.
  • Supporting our attendance goal of 97% ADA per campus. Activating and working with absent scholars based on our attendance matrix.
  • Establishing relationships with scholars to support our student retention goal of 90%.
  • Collaborating with campus staff and administrators to provide wrap‑around services for student’s needs.
  • Using accepted theories and effective techniques of developmental guidance to counsel individual students, small groups of students, and parents to plan, monitor, and manage a student’s own personal and social development.
  • Providing preventive, remedial, and crisis counseling as needed.
  • Coordinating school, home, and community resources and referring students, parents, and others to special programs and services as needed.
  • Working collaboratively to advocate for individual students and specific groups of students.
  • Planning, implementing, evaluating, and promoting continuous improvement of a balanced mental/behavioral guidance program.
  • Planning and conducting lessons that align to the Ignite mission and utilize the current curriculum for Character Virtues, 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Stephen Covey in accordance with students’ developmental needs, and Move this World.
  • Compiling, maintaining, and filing all reports, records and other documents as required.
  • Complying with mental health counseling policies established by federal and state law, state board of education rule, and board policy.
  • Providing career education opportunities for all campuses.
  • Providing professional development for campus staff to be in compliance with the most up‑to‑date procedures and mental health awareness efforts.
  • Complying with all district and campus routines and regulations.
  • Adhering to legal, ethical, and professional standards for school counselors including current professional standards of competence and practice.
  • Travel required.

Salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. Additionally, Responsive Education Solutions offers a comprehensive benefits package including health coverage and retirement.

This position is grant‑funded and contingent upon the continued availability of federal funds. Employment may be terminated if grant funding ceases or is reduced.
