This individual will play a key role in driving census growth and strengthening referral relationships for inpatient psychiatric and behavioral health services.This position is ideal for a seasoned behavioral health business development professional with an existing network of referral sources across primary mental health, psychiatric hospitals, detox/residential programs, healthcare systems, community organizations, and provider groups.The ideal candidate understands the behavioral health landscape across multiple levels of care and is comfortable working with referral sources tied to Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, and self-pay populations.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain strong referral relationships throughout Indiana, Ohio, and parts of MichiganManage and grow an active book of business consisting of:Psychiatric hospitalsBehavioral health providersDetox and residential treatment centersTherapists and outpatient providersHealthcare systems and discharge plannersCommunity referral organizationsRepresent the organization within the marketplace through consistent field outreach and relationship developmentConduct regular in-person meetings, lunches, presentations, and networking events with referral partnersCollaborate closely with admissions and leadership teams to support census growth initiativesEducate referral sources on available behavioral health programs, admissions criteria, payer acceptance, and treatment offeringsTravel consistently throughout assigned territories, including overnight travel as neededMaintain CRM documentation, referral tracking, and outreach reportingStay informed on market trends, competitor activity, payer changes, and regional behavioral health needsRequirements3+ years of behavioral health business development or outreach experienceExisting referral relationships within Indiana, Ohio, and/or Michigan preferredStrong understanding of:Primary mental healthSubstance use disorder (SUD)Co-occurring disordersInpatient psychiatric servicesDetox/residential behavioral health servicesExperience working with referral sources tied to Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, and self-pay populationsAbility to travel extensively throughout assigned territoriesStrong communication, relationship-building, and presentation skillsProven ability to grow census and maintain long-term referral partnershipsExperience utilizing CRM systems and outreach reporting tools preferredCompensation & PerksCompetitive base salary: $80,000 – $110,000+Full benefits packageMileage reimbursementCompany-issued equipmentCompany card for travel, client lunches, entertainment, and marketing materialsStrong leadership support and long-term growth opportunityFully remote with ability to tour referral partners and families at the facility located in Middlepoint, OH
