Regional Asphalt Field Services Technician - Southwest

Field Service EngineerAs a Field Service Engineer at Ingevity, you'll be the go-to technical expert supporting asphalt producers in the field. You'll work hands-on at customer plants to troubleshoot issues, optimize asphalt performance, and ensure successful use of Ingevity's specialty additives.This role blends mechanical/process problem-solving with customer-facing support—partnering closely with plant teams, sales, and R&D to improve product performance, reduce downtime, and drive high-quality results.As a Field Services Technician, you will live in and support our Southwest Region and travel 50% of the time through your region (Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico & Louisiana).What You'll Do:Work directly at asphalt plants to troubleshoot and optimize PLC-controlled systems, supporting both batch and drum operations in real timeInstall, calibrate, and maintain asphalt pump systems and flow meters, ensuring accurate integration with plant PLCs and terminal controlsTake ownership of Evotherm delivery systems, including setup, calibration, and operation of metering equipment during plant trials and live productionDiagnose and resolve issues across pump skids, including pumps, VFDs, and flow measurement devices, to ensure consistent and reliable additive performanceBuild deep expertise in Evotherm systems, with the ability to repair, retrofit, and replace components in the fieldPartner closely with plant engineers, electricians, and operators to improve system performance and ensure seamless plant integrationProvide hands-on support during production and paving (laydown), ensuring proper dosing and real-time mix optimizationRead and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to troubleshoot plant equipment and controlsMaintain accurate service records, including installations, maintenance activity, and system performanceFollow strict safety protocols and lead by example in plant and jobsite environmentsWhat Makes You a Good Fit:You have strong hands-on experience working in or around asphalt plants (batch or drum)Ability to travel 50% within your region (Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico & Louisiana).Strong troubleshooting skills across plant controls, pumps, and automation systemsFamiliarity with PLC systems, plant electrical components, and instrumentationExperience with asphalt operations, plant maintenance, or QC/materials productionComfortable working in the field and supporting active plant production environmentsStrong communication skills and ability to work alongside plant teams and contractorsIngevity is a company made up of extraordinary people of every race, religion and background, all worthy of the same dignity.
