Job Overview

The Offsite Referral and Pre-Certification Specialist is responsible for completing all referral and pre-certification requirements following established protocols.

Responsibilities

1. Obtain referrals and pre-certifications for patients for internal and external appointments and orders.
2. Communicate referral and pre-certification information to patients, external medical offices, and internal staff as per protocols.
3. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• No experience required; 1-3 years of experience in processing prior-authorizations and referrals preferred.
• Knowledge of internal WMG referrals and outgoing referrals.
• Understanding of PCP and referral protocols as defined by insurance carriers.

This is a non-bargaining unit position (M6A) at MSD Wantagh Overhead OFFS, Mount Sinai Hospital.

Compensation

The hourly salary range is $20.60 - $27.80, dependent on experience and education. Additional benefits and incentives may apply.
