Asphalt Paving Machine OperatorReeves Construction Company is currently seeking an individual for the position of Asphalt Paving Machine Operator based out of our Brunswick, GA location. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence. Essential duties and responsibilities include the ability to operate a paver, an accurate and working knowledge of a paver, taking a leadership role on the crew, keeping the paver maintained and clean, and the willingness to work nights and weekends.

The ability to operate equipment in a safe and consistent manner is also required.Qualifications, education, and competencies include a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combinations of education and experience. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Physical demands include the ability to climb onto and up and down a machine several times a day, sit in a machine and operate it for several hours without stopping, withstand vibration from job site conditions as well as noise from other equipment, use arms, hands, and feet in repetitive motions, perform manual duties, such as placing paint drums on the vehicle, and lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
