Position Description
The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Department of Surgery is seeking a recurrent transplant surgeon to help provide coverage in our new program, serving a large region of West Texas and Eastern New Mexico that has previously not had access to transplantation. Initially aimed at kidney transplants, this program will fill a huge unmet need in this region, provide an opportunity to build a regional center of excellence, and develop an enduring legacy in collaboration with the transplant nephrology team.
Major/Essential Functions
- Evaluates, perform operations and manages care of patients donating and receiving kidney transplants;
- Participates in multidisciplinary collaboration with nephrology team, nursing, social workers, etc.
Required Qualifications
- MD, DO or equivalent
- Completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 3.
- Board certified or eligible in Surgery.
- Completion of an American Society of Transplant Surgeons accredited Fellowship in transplantation.
