Recruitment & Outreach AssociateGreen City Force is seeking a dynamic, community-centered Recruitment & Outreach Associate who is passionate about connecting young adults to opportunities that create real impact. This role is ideal for someone who loves relationship-building, youth engagement, storytelling, and community organizing.The Recruitment & Outreach Associate plays a key role in helping young New Yorkers discover and access Green City Force's Service Corps program. Through outreach, events, partnerships, and candidate support, this person will help inspire the next generation of leaders working toward healthier, more sustainable communities.This is a hybrid, field-based role that includes travel across all five boroughs, along with office and remote work.
ROA will be expected to work 2 Saturdays per month based on need with adjusted usual Monday-Friday schedule when applicable.Green City Force (GCF) welcomes applications from Staten Island residents.What You'll DoRecruitment & Candidate EngagementBuild relationships with young adults interested in joining Green City Force programsLead and support information sessions, outreach events, tryouts, and onboarding activitiesMaintain consistent communication with candidates throughout the recruitment processHelp ensure applicants successfully complete enrollment requirements and documentationRepresent Green City Force with enthusiasm, professionalism, and authenticityCommunity Outreach & PartnershipsSupport outreach efforts across NYC through tabling, flyering, community events, and meetingsStrengthen relationships with NYCHA communities, community-based organizations, and city partnersHelp expand awareness of Green City Force programs and opportunitiesAssist with tracking outreach activities, collecting event documentation, and supporting reporting needsCommunications & StorytellingCreate engaging social media and outreach content, including photos, graphics, and short videosSupport the organization's online presence and community engagement across platformsCollaborate with staff to share stories that highlight Corps Member experiences and impactAssist with multimedia content for major events and campaignsTeam & Administrative SupportParticipate in team meetings, trainings, and organizational eventsMaintain timely and accurate communication, documentation, and data trackingContribute ideas to strengthen recruitment strategies and community engagement effortsQualificationsWe're looking for someone who is:Passionate about youth development, community impact, and sustainabilityExcited to connect young adults to meaningful opportunities and career pathwaysA strong communicator who builds trust easily across diverse communitiesOrganized, dependable, collaborative, and proactiveComfortable speaking in groups, facilitating conversations, and engaging people one-on-oneFamiliar with social media platforms and basic digital tools such as Google Workspace and Microsoft OfficeAdditional qualification:Green City Force alumni are strongly encouraged to applyExperience in youth development, community outreach, workforce development, sustainability, organizing, or related fields preferredExperience working with young adults ages 18–24 and/or NYCHA communities strongly preferredValid driver's license (or ability to obtain one within 3 months of hire) preferredAbout GCFGreen City Force's AmeriCorps program prepares young adults aged 18-24 who reside in the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) or low-income housing in NYC and have a high school diploma or equivalency for careers through green service.
