Process EngineerLocation: Sumter, SC Type: Full-Time OnsiteThe Process Engineer reports to the Manufacturing Unit Technical Leader and will drive engineering process improvements, capital equipment upgrades, efficiency gains, and cost reduction initiatives. This role supports troubleshooting, equipment design improvements, vendor coordination, and provides technical leadership on continuous improvement and production optimization.Key Responsibilities:Lead and support capital equipment projects, including design, installation, testing, and validationTroubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, cam-driven, and hydraulic systemsDevelop engineering specifications, drawings, and calculationsSupport plant operations by identifying issues and implementing corrective actionsManage projects of moderate to large scope, including vendor selection and oversightPrepare capital expenditure requests; track budget and timelinesEnsure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirementsMaintain documentation: SOPs, change notifications, validation, PM schedules, and spare partsProvide training and direction to internal support personnelDrive efficiency, quality, waste reduction, and process improvement initiativesCoordinate across R&D, vendors, maintenance, and productionEvaluate in-house vs. outsourced fabrication optionsRequired Experience & Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Bioengineering preferredAll experience levels considered (compensation aligns with experience)Strong mechanical design and troubleshooting capabilityHands-on experience with manufacturing equipment and capital project executionAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyUnderstanding of engineering safety and compliance standardsPreferred Skills:Experience in medical device or regulated manufacturingCam-driven equipment troubleshootingPneumatic & hydraulic systems knowledgeExperience with equipment validations and documentationVendor and contractor managementCost reduction & process improvement experienceWork Environment Requirements:Steel toe shoes requiredNo jewelry, false eyelashes, or press-on nails allowed in production areasMust work onsite (minimum 4 days per week)Smoke-free campusSoft Competencies:Strong communication & leadershipAbility to collaborate cross-functionallyRoot cause analysis & problem-solving strengthTime management and prioritizationProject ownership and accountability
