RN – Medical / SurgicalLocation: Des Moines, Iowa (Onsite) Work Type: Contract (90 Days) Schedule: 3 Days / Week (12-Hour Shifts) Hours: 36 Hours per WeekShift Details• Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM • Schedule: Monday – Friday (3 shifts/week) • 36 Hours per Week The RN – Medical/Surgical (Telemetry) is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to patients with acute and chronic medical conditions. This role involves monitoring telemetry, implementing care plans, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The RN will work in the Resource Pool, supporting various units as needed while maintaining strong clinical judgment and adaptability.Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care & Clinical Excellence• Implement and monitor patient care plans • Provide direct nursing care using assessment, planning, and evaluation • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed • Monitor telemetry and patient conditionsClinical Monitoring & Intervention• Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions • Identify and respond to changes in patient status • Carry out physician and nursing orders • Provide timely interventions based on patient needsCare Coordination & Discharge Planning• Serve as a coordinator across multidisciplinary teams • Assess and support patient discharge planning • Ensure continuity of care across departmentsDocumentation & Compliance• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation • Ensure compliance with clinical standards and hospital policies • Support patient safety and quality initiativesMust-Have Qualifications• Active RN License (State of Iowa or Compact) • Minimum 2+ years of RN experience (Med/Surg or Telemetry) • Experience with telemetry monitoring • Strong clinical and patient care skills • Ability to work night shiftsPreferred Qualifications• Experience in Resource Pool / Float Pool settings • Previous travel RN experience • Experience in acute care hospital settingsCore Competencies• Critical thinking and clinical judgment • Strong communication skills • Patient-centered care • Adaptability and flexibility • Team collaborationWork Environment• Medical / Surgical Units (Resource Pool) • Hospital-based acute care setting • Night shift scheduleAdditional Requirements• Must be open to contract/travel assignment • Must be available for night shifts • Must be open to onsite work in Des Moines, IA
