Receptionist for the Office of AdmissionThe Receptionist for the Office of Admission serves as the first and most important point of contact for prospective students, families, campus visitors, and university stakeholders. This position requires a warm, professional presence, excellent communication abilities, and strong organizational skills. The ideal candidate will deliver an exceptional first impression while efficiently supporting the administrative and event-related operations of the Admissions Office.Examples of duties include:Greeting all guests in a courteous, professional, and welcoming manner.Answering incoming calls with clarity and professionalism; responding to general inquiries and routing calls appropriately to Admissions Counselors, Processors, Assistant Directors, or the Dean.Maintaining a helpful, positive demeanor in all in-person and phone interactions.Opening, sorting, and distributing incoming mail in a timely and efficient manner.Assisting in the planning, preparation, and execution of high-impact recruitment events.Demonstrating strong punctuality, reliability, and attention to detail in all duties.Providing exceptional customer service to all visitors, students, parents, and staff.Remaining composed and courteous under pressure, especially during periods of high call volume or foot traffic.Ensuring a professional tone and polished appearance are always maintained.Typical qualifications include:High School Diploma or equivalent.Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Proven ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.Previous experience in a receptionist or customer service role.Professional, approachable appearance and demeanor.Familiarity with college admissions processes or higher education environments is a plus.Supplemental information:Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher) and DocuSign for routine clerical and document management tasks.Navigate office systems, email platforms, and digital tools with proficiency.We offer a complete benefits package to full-time employees and part-time employees who regularly work 20 hours or more per week including health care, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, legal insurance, accident, critical illness, hospitalization, tuition remission, holidays, vacation, and sick leave.
