Receptionist – CLLServe as the first point of contact for the district. This role is responsible for greeting and directing visitors, handling and directing inquiries and maintaining a professional and welcoming environment. Under moderate supervision, respond to inquiries from parents, staff and the general public.Education/Certification:High school diploma or GEDSome college preferredBilingual preferredSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Strong customer service, interpersonal, communication and organization skillsKnowledge of general district facts and information, district organizational structure, department responsibilities and locationsAbility to operate multi-line phone systemAbility to work as a member of a team and maintain a positive office environmentAbility to read and comprehend instructionsAbility to speak, read and understand EnglishExperience:Two years clerical/secretarial experience in an office settingMajor Responsibilities and Duties:District Reception and Customer Support:Serve as first point of contact for Dripping Springs ISDReceive and direct incoming phone calls efficiently and in a friendly and professional manner, answer routine questions, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.Greet and direct visitors, respond to their inquiries and/or direct them to appropriate personnel in accordance with district policies and procedures regarding building security.Respond to emergency calls and notify appropriate parties to address immediate safety and/or security issues.Receive deliveries and disseminate materials and information to the appropriate parties.District Support:Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as needed.Maintain and update district Google calendars.Oversee the district's Over 65 Tiger Gold Program, including the creation of member cards, member relations, and database management.Other:Provide clerical support and assist with special projects as needed.Assist with setting up for meetings and special events.Submit facility work orders and serve as contact for building custodian.Maintain confidentiality.Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.Supervisory Responsibilities:None.Working Conditions:Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals; multi-line phone systemPosture: Continuous sittingMotion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reachingLifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (under 15 pounds)Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; occasional districtwide travelMental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stressThis document describes the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this job and is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties that may be assigned or skills that may be required.
