Receiving InspectorThe Receiving Inspector ensures that all incoming mechanical parts meet defined inspection plans and drawing requirements before they move into inventory. This role performs detailed mechanical inspections, documents results accurately, and supports material flow by prioritizing shortages and urgent parts. The position requires strong attention to detail, consistent recordkeeping, and effective communication with internal teams regarding nonconforming parts and material status.ResponsibilitiesFollow documented mechanical inspection process instructions to evaluate incoming parts and materials.Verify that mechanical parts meet inspection plan and drawing requirements, including dimensions, features, and quality standards.Document part rejection reasons clearly and accurately, and communicate them according to the Material Review Board (MRB) process.Process shortage and urgent parts ahead of other workload to support production and customer needs.Systematically maintain accurate inspection and receiving records using the appropriate systems and tools.Expedite shortages and high-priority items within the mechanical inspection area to minimize delays.Move accepted and inspected material to the stockroom or designated storage locations as needed.Support shipping and receiving activities as required, including material handling, packaging, and inventory control tasks.Perform other duties as defined by department management to support overall quality assurance and material flow.Essential SkillsExperience with mechanical inspection processes and following documented inspection instructions.Ability to verify mechanical parts against inspection plans and engineering drawings.Knowledge of quality inspection, quality assurance, and quality control practices in a receiving environment.Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving operations, including material handling and packaging.Proficiency in maintaining accurate inspection, receiving, and inventory records, including basic Excel data entry.Ability to work on your feet and/or seated for extended periods of time (6–8 hours per day).Ability to repeatedly lift boxes weighing approximately 30–50 pounds.Strong attention to detail and accuracy when documenting inspection results and rejection reasons.Effective communication skills to document and relay nonconformance information through the MRB process.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with inventory control in a warehouse, stockroom, or manufacturing environment.Experience in packing and packaging of mechanical parts or components.Familiarity with expediting shortages and managing high-priority items in inspection or receiving.Comfort working with spreadsheets and basic data entry for tracking inspection and receiving activity.Ability to multitask and prioritize workload based on production needs and shortage status.Why Work Here?You will join a quality-focused environment where your attention to detail and reliability directly support smooth operations and on-time production.

The work involves frequent lifting of boxes weighing approximately 30–50 pounds and moving accepted materials to designated storage locations. You will use inspection tools, documentation systems, and basic office software such as Excel for data entry and recordkeeping.
