Senior Counsel – Real Estate Transactions / Finance
A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced Real Estate Transactional Senior Counsel to join its sophisticated real estate and community development finance practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior attorney looking to handle complex real estate financing matters while working with an established team representing institutional lenders, investors, and other market participants.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on sophisticated real estate financing and investment transactions
- Draft and negotiate real estate secured loan documents
- Draft and negotiate joint venture, partnership, and operating agreements
- Review title commitments, recorded documents, and surveys
- Oversee and coordinate title and survey review with paralegals
- Work on transactions involving a variety of real estate asset classes, including multifamily, office, hotel, and industrial properties
- Collaborate with attorneys and clients on complex financing structures
The underlying practice represents lenders, investors, and syndicators in real estate financings, including transactions involving low-income housing, historic rehabilitation, new markets, energy, and other state and federal tax credit programs.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of relevant legal experience
- Strong and recent real estate transactional experience
- Experience with real estate lending and/or joint venture financing
- Experience drafting senior real estate secured loan documents and/or real estate joint venture agreements
- Experience reviewing title, survey, and recorded real estate documents
- Tax credit financing experience is highly valued
- Strong writing skills and academic credentials
- Active law license in the state corresponding with the attorney's office location
Compensation
$260,000 – $320,000, with final compensation dependent on experience, qualifications, and performance. Bonus potential and a comprehensive benefits package are also available.
