Commercial Real Estate Paralegal

Contract | 2-3 Months (Potential for Extension)
Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Our client, a respected law firm in downtown Chicago, is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Paralegal for an immediate contract opportunity - title and survey experience is required.
Responsibilities:
- Support attorneys through all phases of commercial real estate and lending transactions from contract through closing.
- Draft, review, and revise deeds, affidavits, amendments, closing statements, settlement documents, and other transaction-related materials.
- Conduct title and survey reviews, identify issues, prepare objection letters, and coordinate resolutions.
- Order and review title commitments, lien searches, zoning reports, municipal searches, and related due diligence materials.
- Assist with commercial lending matters, including financing documentation, UCC searches, and organizational/entity review.
- Coordinate with lenders, title companies, clients, brokers, and opposing counsel throughout the transaction process.
- Track critical deadlines and ensure timely completion of all closing requirements.
- Prepare closing binders and maintain organized transaction records.
- File and record real estate documents and UCC filings with appropriate governmental agencies.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a Commercial Real Estate Paralegal.
- Title and Survey experience required.
- Strong knowledge of commercial lending transactions, financing documentation, and lender requirements.
- Experience with title review, survey review, due diligence, UCC searches, and real estate closings.
- Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and team members.
Preferred Experience:
- High-volume commercial real estate transaction experience.
- Familiarity with closing software and title platforms.
- Experience reviewing corporate entity records and financing materials.
The pay range for this position is $30-35/hour depending on experience. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
