Dickinson Wright PLLC is seeking an experienced attorney to join its Real Estate Finance practice group. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience representing some combination of borrowers, developers, investors, lenders, financial institutions, private equity sponsors, and other participants in sophisticated commercial real estate transactions.
This is an opportunity to join a well-established transactional practice handling a broad range of complex real estate finance matters, with significant opportunities for responsibility, client interaction, and professional growth.
The attorney will work on a variety of real estate finance transactions, including:
Acquisition, construction, bridge, permanent, and refinance transactions
Tax-advantaged and incentive-based real estate transactions
Mortgage and mezzanine financing
Structured real estate finance transactions
Construction lending and development financing
Loan modifications, workouts, restructurings, and dispositions
Real estate joint ventures and equity transactions
Private equity and institutional investment transactions
Preparation and negotiation of loan documents, organizational documents, purchase and sale agreements, and related transaction documents
Due diligence, title and survey review, and closing matters
The position offers the opportunity to work directly with sophisticated clients and other leading professionals while developing the skills necessary to independently manage increasingly complex transactions.
This position is based in our Columbus or Seattle office; however, we will consider other Dickinson Wright office locations for candidates with the right experience.
In addition to a license to practice law in the state where your preferred office is located (or eligibility for admission by waiver), we are particularly interested in attorneys who have:
3+ years of transactional real estate or real estate finance experience
Experience representing borrowers, lenders, developers, investors, or sponsors in commercial real estate transactions
Strong drafting and negotiation skills
The ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines effectively
Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
A strong interest in high-level transactional work and client service
The ability and desire to take ownership of matters and develop toward independent responsibility
Tax or securities expertise (a plus but not required)
We are also interested in attorneys who have a strong foundation in real estate transactions and are motivated to develop the specialized skills necessary to handle sophisticated real estate finance matters.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $160,000 to $240,000. Please note that a variety of factors determine compensation, including geographic location, experience, relevant degrees and certifications, and other applicable factors authorized by law. This position also qualifies for an annual merit-based bonus.
