Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney (Mid-Level)Direct Counsel is seeking a mid-level Real Estate Finance Associate to join an Am Law 100 firm in New York.This is an outstanding opportunity for a 3–5 year associate attorney to join a premier Real Estate Finance practice representing leading institutional lenders, investment managers, hedge funds, and financial institutions in sophisticated commercial real estate transactions across the country.The practice is highly lender-side and transaction-driven, with work spanning a broad range of complex financing structures, including:Senior mortgage financingsMezzanine loansBridge and construction financingsPreferred equity investmentsLoan portfolio acquisitions and salesStructured secondary market transactionsRestructurings and modificationsMatters involving both performing and distressed assetsKey ResponsibilitiesDrafting and negotiating loan documents and ancillary transaction agreementsAdvising institutional lenders on complex CRE finance structuresHandling mezzanine, bridge, and construction loan transactionsSupporting preferred equity and secondary market dealsAssisting with loan workouts, restructurings, and distressed asset modificationsCoordinating transaction execution across counterparties, borrowers, and internal deal teamsQualifications3–5 years of real estate finance experienceStrong experience representing lenders and financial institutionsExposure to commercial mortgage, mezzanine, and structured finance transactionsExcellent drafting, negotiation, and deal management skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, sophisticated transactional environmentCompensationThe expected salary range for this role is $260,000 – $365,000, depending on class year, experience, and overall qualifications.The firm offers a highly competitive benefits package, including:Medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance401(k) savings planBackup childcare and eldercareProfessional development and mentorship opportunitiesStrong long-term growth platform within an elite finance practice
