Real Estate Development Financial Analyst

Summary/Objective

Assist the firm in navigating various phases of the development process. Facilitate all aspects of the development of a transaction from site identification through initial due diligence, underwriting, closing, construction, and lease-up. The ideal candidate will be local to the Southeast or be available to relocate to Charleston, SC. This candidate would also be a recent graduate with a real estate finance background and/or up to 2-year experience in a corporate setting. Ultimately the successful candidate will value the flexibility and variable nature of responsibilities that come along with joining a small firm. This is not a remote or full-time work from home position. 

Key Responsibilities

·        Coordinate and assist in model preparation, closing due diligence, underwriting, and construction draws.

·        Conduct independent financial underwriting/modeling/analysis of potential transactions.

·        Prepare executive summaries for transactions including key risks/strengths for submittal to senior management.

·        Travel to sites, from time to time, to assess marketability and risks.

·        Organize, assemble, and submit documents required for equity and loan approvals.

·        Prepare funding requests for loan and equity draws.

·        Interface with auditors.

·        Prepare and maintain financial models for all transactions.

·        Review engineering, environmental studies, and other third-party reports.

·        Asset management responsibilities include annual reporting distribution, property budget approval, and monthly financials review.

·        Maintain marketing plan, company and affiliate company websites and social media presence.

·        Maintain and improve company database.

·        Maintain and update company website.

·        Other duties or projects as assigned by management.

Position Type:

This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday. Flexibility in hours is encouraged, and, as an exempt position, there will be times when work hours will extend beyond 40 in a week.

Travel

The travel requirements are on an as-needed basis.

Required Education and Experience

·        Bachelor’s degree from a top four-year college or university required. 

·        High graduating GPA (3.5+), superior test scores, or other demonstrated intellectual excellence required.

·        Recent college graduate with 1- 5 years of experience working in a finance, accounting, or quantitative field.
