Description: Reading Specialist
Job Summary:
  • Ability to deliver reading intervention to students in grades K-4;
  • Data collection, analysis and reporting;
  • Working closely with ELA Supervisor, SE Supervisor and School Administration;
  • Identify programmatic needs and materials;
  • Assess and identify students for inclusion in intervention program;
  • Strong ability to collaborate with school administration, teachers, and support staff in order to provide instructional support as needed;
  • Plan and implement lessons aligned with grade level standards;
  • Utilize researched based and innovative approaches and instructional strategies;
  • Reflective and open to feedback;
  • Monitor student progress and program efficacy.
Qualifications:
  • Appropriate New Jersey State Teacher Certification;
  • Students with Disabilities or TOH Certification a plus;
  • Reading Specialist Certification a must;
  • Minimum 5 years effective / highly effective teaching experience;
  • Experience with Read 180 and/or System 44 a plus.

Working Conditions: Hackensack Middle School
Salary: As per HBOE/HEA Agreement
