Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):
- Provide targeted, small-group and/or individual reading intervention based on identified student needs.
- Use assessment data to identify reading strengths, skill gaps, and areas requiring intervention.
- Deliver evidence-based instruction in areas such as phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and foundational reading skills.
- Develop and implement intervention plans aligned with student needs and grade-level standards.
- Monitor student progress regularly using appropriate assessments and progress-monitoring tools.
- Maintain accurate records of student intervention, progress, and instructional strategies.
- Analyze progress-monitoring data to determine when interventions should be continued, intensified, modified, or discontinued.
- Collaborate with administration and classroom teachers to ensure intervention supports classroom instruction and grade-level expectations.
- Participate in RTI/MTSS, Whole Child Team, and/or S-Team meetings as appropriate.
- Communicate student progress and intervention recommendations to teachers, administrators, and families as appropriate.
- Support teachers in implementing effective reading strategies and interventions within the classroom.
- Current TN state certification in applicable grade levels
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Successful prior teaching experience for these grade levels a plus.
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles.
- Possess a working knowledge of the state curriculum framework as pertains to the specific
classroom subject needs. - Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
- Ability to interpret policies as related to job functions.
- Ability to use computer network systems and software applications as needed.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and families.
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
- Ability to perform any physical duties assigned with this position (e.g., lifting up to 50 pounds on a
regular basis, sitting for long periods of time, walking, seeing, standing for extended periods of
time, etc.)
