Read Channel Digital Design Engineer

Hard disk drive read channel digital design, concentrating on digital signal processing and error correction decoding.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with architects to develop design specifications.
• Be responsible for HDL coding, lint checking, CDC checking and RTL & gate-level simulation development and debug.
• Produce verification and silicon validation plans.
• Work with implementation teams to review results from synthesis, STA and logical equivalence checks.
• Provide input to program managers to produce project resource requirements and schedules.
• Develop automation to support design & verification tasks.

Job Requirements

• B.S degree in EE or Computer Engineering with minimum of 12 years of related experience, or M.S degree/Ph.D. in EE or Computer Engineering with minimum 10 years of related experience.
• Hard disk drive and read/write channel knowledge is a plus.
• Knowledge of Verilog, UNIX, Perl or Python scripting, and C.
• Understanding of the IC development flow, from RTL to silicon.
• Familiarity with low power design techniques.
• Ability to work with teams at remote locations and in different time zones.
• Self-motivation, excellent communication skills and ability to excel in a team environment.
