Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Radiology Technician Intern you will help the registered radiology technologist provide high-quality diagnostic radiographic procedures so they can support accurate diagnoses and patient care in accordance with the mission and philosophy of CHI St Alexius Medical Center. Every day you will provide technical expertise in Diagnostic Radiographic procedures under the direct supervision of a registered radiology technologist. You will be expected to perform radiographic duties following established protocols and contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the radiology department. To be successful in this role, you must possess technical expertise in Diagnostic Radiographic procedures and demonstrate a commitment to adhering to the standards and directives of a registered radiology technologist and the medical center's mission.
- Assist with Diagnostic Imaging: Aid in X‑ray imaging procedures under the supervision of experienced professionals
- Ensure Safety Protocols: Strictly adhere to all radiation safety protocols, protecting both patients and staff
- Provide Patient Care: Prepare patients for procedures and ensure their comfort throughout their visit
- Support Team Efficiency: Contribute to maintaining department equipment standards and operational efficiency
- Develop Professional Knowledge: Gain a strong understanding of professional practice standards in a clinical environment

Job Requirements
Required
- Current enrollment as a second‑year student of an approved School of Radiologic Technology. Must meet school of radiology program competencies for all routine radiographic procedures and specialty work
- Licensure is not applicable for enrolled students. Pursuing registry through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. (Student is registry eligible after completing an approved Radiologic Technology program)
- Basic Life Support Certification (CPR‑Healthcare Provider) within 480 hours of employment and meets re-certification as required
Preferred
- One year experience as a student in an approved Radiologic Technologist Program. Must complete competency testing as established by the program director or clinical instructor
