Hours and Duties
Under the direction of the Medical Director, and in conjunction with the Administrative Director of Imaging Services, the technologist performs various radiological procedures. Duties include, but are not limited to: limited monitoring of patients during procedures, performing some specialized radiologic procedures according to departmental protocols, working in various areas with different equipment, assisting with QA and QI studies, patient scheduling, and crash cart monitoring. The technologist is expected to use the Cerner information system and complete studies in the McKesson PACS system, solving PACS issues during the shift. Portable X‑rays ordered for the shift are completed with limited supervision. The technologist uses independent judgment to obtain the best diagnostic images, maintains and monitors equipment operation and calibration, assists in maintaining relationships with physicians and staff, assists the radiologist with contrast administration, practices sterile technique, and performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a school of Radiologic Technology
- Current Certified Radiology Tech (CRT) – California Radiologic Health Branch (RHB) Certification
- Current Fluoroscopy License – required within one (1) year of hire
- Special procedures, CT experience preferred
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification
- Cath Lab experience preferred
