Join us as a Rad Tech II. You will operate radiographic equipment to perform diagnostic and other clinical exams and serve as a coach to student technologists, demonstrating appropriate behavior in line with the Mission, Vision, and Values of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Performs radiologic and other requested examinations on assigned patients, determining technical and positioning factors and minimizing radiation exposure.
  • Explains procedures to patients and answers any questions or concerns.
  • Collects specimens for drug screens and performs Blood Alcohol Tests and CLIA‑waived tests.
  • Performs patient intake activities, including checking and recording vital signs.
  • Provides ongoing patient assessment through observation and recording; reports findings accurately and on time.
  • Assists in the development of others through guidance and teaching; promotes professional practice of all members of the radiological services team.
  • Responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, compliance activities, and policies and procedures.
  • Effectively manages resources such as supplies and equipment; plans work and completes job responsibilities efficiently and productively.
  • Demonstrates professional work behavior and excellent customer service in all interactions.
  • Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.

Education Qualifications

  • Technical Degree or Diploma in Radiology.

Experience Qualifications

  • 1–3 years experience as a Rad Tech.

Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of procedures used to train and orient Rad Techs as determined by the Manager.
  • Ability to effectively relate and communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrated clinical competencies in radiography imaging equipment and procedures.

Licenses and Certifications

  • BASIC LIFE SUPPORT – American Heart Association.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Medical Radiation Technologist – Mississippi State Department of Health.
  • Radiologic Technologist – Arkansas Department of Health.

Supervision Provided by this Position

  • No supervisory or lead responsibilities; however, the incumbent may occasionally demonstrate various job responsibilities, observe, coach, and guide less experienced Rad Techs in the department.

Physical Demands

  • Activities include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • Physical requirements: medium work – exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
  • Requires close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision for tasks such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, and extensive reading.
  • Frequent invasive and non‑invasive patient contact.
