Job Description
CT Tech - Emergency Department
Schedule
- Weekend schedule: Saturday, Sunday & Monday (NO weekend RTO)
- Shift pattern: 2 × 12-hr nights (19:00-07:00) Saturday & Sunday + 1 × 12-hr mids (15:00-03:00) Monday
- Hours available: ~36 hrs can be offered
Assignment Details
- Daily caseload: 150-200 scans
- Number of CT rooms: 4
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of CT experience required
- Experience in a 500-bed (or larger) hospital
- GE & Siemens FORCE scanner experience mandatory
- Required certifications: ARRT(R)(CT), BLS
- CT procedure experience: Abdomen/pelvis, Head/neck, Chest, Spine, Musculoskeletal, Brain perfusion, CTAs, Multiplanar reconstruction
- Preferred: Outpatient experience, IV starts, PACS/Visage experience, contrast administration
- Charting system: EPIC
Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform CT scans on diverse patient populations, including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
- Collaborate with the emergency department team to provide timely imaging to support diagnosis and treatment.
- Maintain equipment and ensure optimal functionality before and after use.
- Follow safety protocols for radiation and patient care.
- Document procedures and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Provide assistance in trauma and stroke care as needed.
Compliance / Notes
- RTO after booking is NOT allowed; additional RTO could result in cancellation.
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays; no RTO during the first week; all RTO must be pre-approved.
- Orientation: Approximately 48 hours; pre-start modules required.
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only).
