Must-Have: Bachelors Degree in radiological technology or equivalent preferred.
Description:Administers ionizing irradiation to patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions from department physicians.Delivers the prescribed course of radiation therapy by checking prescriptions, diagnosis charts, and patient identification.Explains procedures to patients, means of communication during treatment, and basic treatment procedure.Delivers prescribed daily doses to patients, observing radiation safety measures for patients and personnel.Prepares rooms and equipment for patients according to prescriptions or simulations regarding immobilization devices.Transfers patients to treatment couches, giving attention to the special needs of the patients.Observes patients for unusual reactions and signs of developing complications during treatment.Reports reactions and complications to the supervisor and department physician.Maintains a variety of records, including records of daily treatments.Regularly reviews patient charts to eliminate errors and ensure that blood counts and special reports are properly recorded.Provides clinical supervision and evaluates students' practical ability to perform procedures.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.Committed to the safety and wellbeing of all associates and patients.Requires that all associates receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable.Medical and religious exemptions may apply.
