Radiology Nurse Practitioner

Locums - Vancouver, Washington, NP/PA Radiology Job

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length:

• 6 months

Reason for Opening:

• Gap in coverage

Schedule:

• Monday-Friday

• 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

• No call

Practice Setting:

• Inpatient and outpatient

• 450-bed hospital

Patient Population:

• Young adults through elderly patients

Patient Volume:

• Approximately 8-10 patients per day

EMR:

• Epic

Responsibilities:

• Perform fluoroscopic studies with support from experienced radiologic technologists

• Operate fluoroscopy equipment with technologist assistance as needed

• Provide final interpretations and sign reports

• Supervising radiologist available for oversight and random chart audits

• Independently perform all listed studies following training

• Collaborate with Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) on modified barium swallow studies

Required Procedures:

• Esophagram

• Upper GI studies

• Upper GI with small bowel follow-through

• Modified barium swallow studies

Preferred Procedures:

• Single contrast barium enema

• Air contrast barium enema

Additional Information:

• Modified barium swallow studies are completed jointly with an SLP

• Feeding tube placement, drain procedures, biopsies, paracenteses, and other Interventional Radiology procedures are managed by the IR PA team

Requirements:

• Nurse Practitioner certification

• BLS certification required (AHA or American Red Cross)

• Experience with fluoroscopic procedures preferred
