Technologist
Performs a variety of routine and specialized MRI procedures for inpatients, outpatients, and emergency department patients of all ages. Performs assigned supervisory functions. Maintains the standards of ARRT. Demonstrates courteous behavior through polite and respectful communication to all customers. Adheres to the 7 customer service behaviors. Verifies physician orders for instructions from requesting physicians and consults with the radiologists as necessary. Prepares patients for exams. Explains procedures and provides education and instruction to patients as appropriate. Adheres to MRI safety standards. Performs all magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies and administration of contrast media utilizing age-related technical and positioning protocols and safety procedures according to department policy and procedure. Assists radiologists with MR procedures as requested. Evaluates MRI images for technical quality. Operates and maintains MRI and associated equipment and supplies. Performs equipment warm-up, calibration, and safety checks. Operates the hospital computer system. Reports to the supervisor any equipment malfunctions. Operates equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines for appropriate quality control.
