Interventional Rad Tech
The Interventional Rad Technologist performs interventional radiology procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by a physician or other licensed provider for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols. They perform high-quality interventional radiology procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner. They maintain production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures. Utilizing effective communication methods, they ensure correct exams are performed and establish rapport with patients and others. They instruct and communicate with patients and their families regarding the tests to be performed. They prepare patients and the area for procedures by positioning patients, adjusting immobilization devices, and moving equipment into specified positions. They protect patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection control, drug, and radiation policies. They use proper sterile techniques when setting up and performing invasive multimodality procedures. They maintain equipment and work areas to meet quality and cleanliness standards. They assist in maintaining supplies inventory and report equipment issues as needed. They ensure individuals are safe to enter the department by screening them according to approved policies and procedures. They obtain, verify, and maintain all relevant documentation such as requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status, and consent forms. They maintain medical imaging records in the appropriate system and according to department policies and standards for interpretation.
