Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out on site. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR. The expected start date is based on the schedule but is subject to change depending on class and trainer availability. Travelers may start on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of the first week and must be fully available with no other commitments to accommodate any schedule changes. Missing any portion of orientation may result in a delayed or canceled start. The final start date will be confirmed on the Tuesday prior to the start week. Previous stroke certified hospital experience preferred. The unit will not accept first-time travelers. Work setting skills required: Interventional Radiology and Special Procedures. Equipment operation and maintenance skills required: Maintains equipment, PACS, and stocks supplies. Abdominal and pelvic skills required include angioplasty, chemoembolization, embolization, IVC filter placement and removal, and more. Genitourinary studies and procedures skills required include angiography, catheter/drain exchange, and nephrostomy. Neurological studies and procedures skills required include carotid angiography, embolization, and stent placement. Vascular studies and procedures skills required include angioplasty, central venous access, and thrombolysis. Venous access skills required include central venous access (non-tunneled/PICC lines). Equipment and devices skills required include fluoroscopy. Procedural responsibilities skills required: Equipment setup, prep access site, room circulator, and maintain sterile field. Professional knowledge and skills required: 3D imaging, isolation precautions/PPE, and lead tech experience. Infection control skills required: Sterile technique. The average daily census is 450, with 20 visits per day and 3 rooms. The unit has a capacity of 650 beds and requires call one day per week. There is no float requirement, with weekend coverage needed once every 6-7 weeks. Special procedures include stroke intervention, intracranial embolization, kyphoplasty, nephrostomy, and chemoembolization. Special equipment includes fluoroscopy, GE Innova single plane, and Siemens Artis biplane.
