Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer

This is a 13-week contract position.

Days shift available.

The Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer performs cardiac diagnostic imaging procedures to study the anatomy and hemodynamics of the heart. This role includes utilizing two-dimensional (2D) and Doppler modalities, performing online calculations to quantify cardiac parameters, and assisting cardiologists during transesophageal echocardiograms.

Responsibilities:

  • Introduce self and identify patients using two forms of ID; explain testing procedures.
  • Review medical history and direct exams accordingly.
  • Perform cardiac imaging procedures and calculations for evaluating heart function.
  • Report abnormal findings to cardiologists and take necessary steps to safeguard patients.
  • Coordinate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Monitor report turnaround times and ensure accurate report distribution.
  • Maintain and clean imaging equipment and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.
  • Assist in performing 12 lead electrocardiograms and operate stress testing equipment when necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Formal training from an accredited medical sonography program specializing in cardiac sonography.
  • Credentialed by the ARDMS as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) (AE).
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • At least five years of experience, with RDCS AE credential for a minimum of five years.
  • Good computer, verbal and written communication skills.
